thank you for such a warm welcome, Tea With the Black Dragon by R A MacAvoy is one of my favorite books. Most of my friends get a real kick of the handle- When I meet Peter Beagle at DragonCon a couple of years ago and he saw my badge he was tickle pink.

my picture is form the Dragon Parade in 2005.I was part of the Witchblade group. The lady in the chainmail was part of LOTR group.

I did not make DragonCon in 2007 or 2008 because son has been very ill and I did not want to be away from him. He is doing much better but at this point I am not sure about 2009.

But there are plans in the work for a scifi con In Birmingham, AL March 2009 and I will be there http://imagicon.org/gatekeeper/

Hi there and thanks for the invite. It was good to catch up last night and I'm looking forward to reading some books for you. I'll have a look through the nominations list and let you have opinions on them every now and then! The site looks fantastic and I'm looking forward to having a nosey round the shop! Will come up with some suitable T-Shirt slogans soon :) Alli x

Thanks for the welcome Deborah. Its a raven in homage to James Barclay (who incidentally left a message on his site about this one). I think i may enjoy this site with lots of like minded people.

Thank you for the welcome. I don't know who will win, but there are good books and good writers.

(In France, we call him "Zébulon" ;-) )

Hi. Thanks for a warm welcome. I hope not to be biased to much by my nationality. I'm not coming here to vote (for voting, you don't need to register, right?) I'm coming to discuss other novels and promote Sapkowski's one.

Overall I hope to have time to read at least half of the books nominated before voting and I have to choose which ones. I would also like to promote an approach of reading multiply books from the list before voting. Without it, it's a bit of "who'll bring more friends" approach than a real voting ;)

So, yea, I definitely recommend you all to read Sapkowski's Blood of Elves *before* voting. And I hope to find out which books I should read before voting. :)

Thanks for the belated Welcome. Better late then never eh? Thanks for putting up this sweet site. Haven't been too active on the forums (Not much of those books make it over the pond unfortunately).

I haven’t been to a book store in....wow...3 months(Live 2 hours away from one unfortunately) So I am hopefully going to pick up some Brent Weeks, Stan Nicholls, James Barclay this month, since I haven’t read a book from the long list yet :(.

I Actually started reading some of Barclay’s work for the first time and enjoyed it immensely(DG did recommend it so what can you expect =D). So right now I am leaning towards Barclay just because he knew who David was and his books are written in a Gemmell-like way.
