Quite a few of you have been asking if/when tickets will be made available for the Award Ceremony itself so I thought it best to update everyone on the progress of the event so far...
The Ceremony will be held at the HQ of 'The Magic Circle' in London (near to Euston Station) on Friday 19th June. It is a gala 'black tie' (and posh frock!) event, with the Ceremony itself and then a reception. We are planning a charitable auction on the night for our nominated charity, 'Medicines Sans Frontiers'…

We'll be taking the poll offline tomorrow in order to strip out 100s of fraudulant votes, which some idiot has managed to register for their favourite author. I don't imagine any Forum Member is likely to be resposible for this - in case whoever is responsible is reading this via the tags on Technorati or somesuch - why don't you just give it up!
It's pointless:
A/ The author in question doesn't even need your 'help' and I would imagine, would be embarassed at the stupidity of such an action fr…

You are only allowed to vote ONCE - and the system is so set to disallow (destroy) duplicate votes - so, please be careful, and make your vote count!
And some exciting news - this evening we are at 850 votes in the poll! This is an AMAZING response - especially over the christmas holidays - thank-you so much to everyone who has voted so far!
I still have a few of the 100 free bands left because not all of the first 100 voters sent me their addresses - so if you would like one (posted anywhere…

After receiving lots of feedback from fans, readers and industry alike, we at the DGLA have - after much deliberation - come to the decision to make the David Gemmell Legend Award completely publicly voted.
This means that once the Longlist closes, the top 5 novels will be put forward to the Shortlist Poll and YOU will be able to have the final say about who should win, by voting once more on the shortlist! Readers and fans will be involved at every step to produce our winner.
We are confident…

Press Releases are flying out - people are emailing us... many asking how they can become involved, which is brilliant! There's so much excitement and goodwill for the Award that it's very gratifying and is keeping us (the Steering Group)…
