Some of you may remember that for the Charity Auction at the Award Ceremony last year, Jaguar Cars very kindly donated to us a
'Jaguar Car Weekend', which allowed the winning bidder to drive around in a beautiful Jag! The winning bidder was our great friend and supporter, Sandy Auden - and she's kindly sent us this account of her exciting experience!

Rob was a staunch supporter of the Awards & attended the ceremony in June (where this lovely picture was taken). He knew David very well and told me that they were born just one night and one mile apart on…

So, as last year, I've compiled a little timetable of how things should unfold. It's available as a PDF download in the right-hand column >>>
At this moment, we have announced the Award to the industry and we're awaiting the Nominations from the publishers. Rest assured we will be sending out Bulletins to our Members as news c…

The 25th Anniversary Edition of 'LEGEND' will be released by Orbit on 15th October, but they have very kindly given the DGLA copies to give away in advance!
As you can see, they are rather handsome, classy-looking paperbacks with
a new Foreword written by Stella Gemmell and an interesting new imaginin…

Maintaining a spanking new genre Award is surprisingly expensive, and so, as we sit back and rest somewhat on our laurels from an amazing first year, it occurs to me that the very large wobbly stac…

With the applause fading into the distance from this years award and with our inaugural presentation, its now coming to a time when people think that things may go a little quiet on the site. Well you would be wrong. Thoughts have already turned to next year’s nominations as well as the award presentation. Fan’s are secretly whispering about who they feel should be nominated, so in the spirit of Loki (as lets face it there isn’t a fantasy fan anywhere that isn’t a little bit mischievous, LOL) an…

A few people have contacted me regarding 'Legend' wristbands after they have voted on the Shortlist. The offer of a free wristband was originally for the first 100 voters on the LONGLIST and they are all taken... HOWEVER... I have unearthed an extra 50! (In my office, which currently looks like a bombsite - so no surprise I couldn't find them!)
So, if you would like a wristband OR you are one of the people who has already contacted me to ask - it's first come first served! As long as you have v…

After a long fought out epic campaign the David Gemmell Legend Award has come down to the final five. They’re slaughtered, butchered and above all fought heroically for their place in the final five despite some dodgy backroom tactics from alleged fans.
Shortly we’ll get to work on a new area for each author and allot them their own “Guild” which you the reading public can sign up for along with having the chance to show your support for your favourite author as well as letting people know why…
