AWARD EVENT!

THE AWARD CEREMONY FOR THE FIRST DAVID GEMMELL LEGEND AWARD, WILL BE HELD ON 19TH JUNE AT THE MAGIC CIRCLE HEADQUARTERS, 12 STEPHENSON WAY, LONDON.

IT PROMISES to be a glittering evening for the Fantasy genre (black tie & evening dress) with the presentation of the Award in the Magic Circle Theatre and then, a drinks & canapés reception to follow. We plan for as many Fantasy luminaries to be there as possible, including the Shortlisted authors. The venue is quite limited on numbers, but we chose it for its wonderful quirkiness!

On the night:

RAVEN ARMOURIES, who are supplying our ‘Snaga’ trophy will be bringing along a ‘Snaga’ and ‘The Swords of Night and Day’ for everyone to admire.

We will be having our Charity Auction, in aid of ‘MEDICINES SANS FRONTIER’ which will be having some ‘Fantasy-themed’ amazing lots! [There will be an opportunity to bid in advance if you cannot make it to the Ceremony – details to follow on website.]

A chance to rub shoulders with your favourite authors and to raise a toast to David Gemmell!

We want as many of our supporters and fans to be able to attend too of course, so I’m happy to announce the release of the FIRST 30 ‘FRIEND & FAN’ TICKETS! (I thought 30 seemed like an appropriate number somehow ;-) There will be another batch released in a months time, but we don’t know how many as yet…

The ‘F&F’ tickets cost £20 each and are limited to 2 per person.

In the first instance, Message ME your name, and how many tickets you require. BUT DON'T PAY ANYTHING YET! I will let you know by Friday 27th March, whether you have been successful, or whether I have had to put you on the ‘waiting list’ for the next batch of tickets. To be absolutely fair, we will be drawing names at random if we are over-subscribed.

Assuming you ARE successful, when I contact you, please send me your home address (so we can post your tickets!) and then pay the £20 per ticket via the PayPal button on the Main page of the site. There’s no VAT or ‘Booking charge’ or nonsense like that, just the ticket price is fine!

The Magic Circle have kindly helped us to organise discounted room-bookings via Jigsaw Conferences. They have been very helpful and negotiated discounts at three hotels near the venue - follow THIS LINK for all the details...

A few things to note:

The prices shown are PER ROOM not per person - so are very reasonable given that the event is in June - peak tourist season!

If you're keen to share - twin rooms ARE available at the same rate as a Double. You can specify 'Twin' once you click the 'Book' button.

It's not compulsory to use this service, we have organised it for the convenience of our Guests - you are of course welcome to make your own arrangements.

I know there are some of you coming who want to be in the same hotel - it might be a good idea to let people know what hotel you plan to be in by posting here in the Forum 'Hotel' thread before you book (but obviously, don't leave it too long!) That way, everyone can coordinate with each other...
