The David Gemmell Legend Awards

Last nigth was a fantastic evening for everyone. I enjoyed myself immensely as did my wife, Giselle. We had some great company to from Anna and Chris, and others from the fansites.

James Barclay kicked the ceremony off with a spine-tinging rendition of Druss's well known speach in Legend. After, he had everyone in stiches during the auction.

Debbie and Stan did themselves proud as the main compares while Mrs Nicholls gave a touching glimpse of the David she and Stan knew which was met with utter silence as those gathered together let the words seep into their psyche and nourish their souls.

It was a gathering of friends, relatives and admirers of a great man. I was honoured to have been there and am certain that I have been privileged in attending the first of many award ceremonies. I am sure that in years to come many of us present will look back upon last nigth with a warm heart and a broad smile.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Debbie, Stan, Gareth any everyone else who made this possible. You have done credit to yourselves, your genre and to the big man himself.

Rest well David, your spirit lives still, and is as strong as iron.

Oh yes. No more needs to be said. It was awesome. Especially young Mr Barclay and the Call to Arms... the man is a god! :->

Andrew has described the evening wonderfully, and I am in total agreement with him.
Chris and I had a fantastic time, it was lovely to see friends in person once more and to meet new people who share the same passion.

A wonderful evening, in the spirit of a wonderful author and a great man.
Here's to many more!!!

It was a great night. Much fun was had, much drink was consumed and some good conversations were had. All good stuff. Roll on next year!

That was such a fabulous evening and all the hard work definitely paid off. I hope the award keeps going from strength to strength and am already looking forward to next year. Thank you for all the hard work put in to this (and I hope you have a good sleep tonight Debbie). It was lovely to meet so many people who share my love of fantasy. I agree with everything said in the above messages and would also like to mention the guys from Raven Armoury who very kindly (if not sensibly) allowed me near the Swords of Night and Day as well as Snaga. A big thanks to you too - I should stop grinning maniacally some day soon.

Oh Woe, Sorrow, a Wailing and a Gnashing of teeth......my wife and I couldn't make it.

Please go easy on us poor unfortunates that were unable to ......I am so totally gutted.

May be next year......when the kids are a bit older!

What did all the lots go for? What was the total to Medcin Sans Frontiers?

We are so glad it all went well for everyone though.....Well done to Debbie et al.
