The David Gemmell Legend Awards

So who which actors would play which characters.
I'm thinking the head viking in 'the 13th warrior' to play Druss!
What do you think?

How about Jeff Bridges for Druss? ....................... He has got an edge that I would like to see turned to something other than playing the bad guy or the comedian. I loved his performance in Fisher King.

Was it Jeff Bridges in 'Starman' - or was that his Dad? I loved that movie - soppy I know, but brilliant!
He would be an interesting choice for Druss - "outside-the-box" choice!

Someone earlier mentioned 'The Rock' or Vin Deisel for Skillgannon (both similar to the cover art image) sadly neither are particularly good actors. If I had to choose, I'd go for The Rock!

Val Kilmer - for Rek definitley! As he looked in 'Willow' as 'Mad Martigen'... hmmm, lush! ;-)

Yup.....Jeff Bridges was indeed Starman!

I believe you are mistaken about Mr Diesel.......he just picks some very lame films. Also, he has a great love of the genre, so I believe he would endeavour to do a fantasy charcter, like Druss, justice. Also, his directing capacity is very good......but I did point out that he is better as a supporting actor rather than a lead, and again I argue that Druss, although integral to the story, is not the main character in Legend. Dwayne Johnson gets better all the time.......

Val Kilmer is a total prima donna from what I hear........I'd go with Mr Downey, although a slightly older Heath Ledger would have been great.....may he rest in peace.

How about another pairing of Paul Bettany and Russell Crowe? Bettany for Regnak?

And Antonio Banderas for Joachim?

Of course - how could I forget Paul Betteny! My favourite Brit actor... and Russell Crowe as you say, is a great actor, despite also being a diva like Val Kilmer!

Just also thought of Joquian Pheonix (the hardest actor to spell??) I could actually visualise him as Rek...

Much as I love Antonio B. I can't see him in any of DG roles...

On the subject of 'Brit / UK actors'...........Vinnie Jones as Nogusha the executioner!! LOL

Paddy Considine as one of the main characters of the 30, haven't decided which.

Who would play Serbitar?.................I rule out Paul Bettany for the reason of type-casting!

Any more suggestions for Virae or Caesa?......Saffron Burrows for Caesa?

Derek Jacobi for Bricklyn?

Ok, Druss.

If I cant have Lenny McClean (the scary man from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) as he is no longer with us, how about Mickey Rourke he definatley looked the part in his recent film the Wrestler, or James Hetfield from the band Metallica, and lastly Randy Couture from the UFC, he is at an age where he could play Druss older or yoounger with a little make up.

Also their are plenty of other Metal singers out their for other parts such as Clutch singer Neil Fallon for Jon Shannow, when he sings it sounds like he is preaching.

For Waylander Vincent Cassel or Liam Neeson, both fantastic actors able to do dark and moody incredibaly well, Neeson just pips Cassel to the post through age for me though.

Neil Fallon for Jon Shannow is inspired, but I think you'd get severe problems both there and in trying to cast Hetfield as druss in that these people are Musicians and not actors... I really dont think they could pull it off - dont forget its not just about the look, these people have gotta be able to portray the role well too... (Fallon would stand a better chance as Shannow than Hetfield would as Druss)

I have to agree but it would be worth a try, thats what casting is for, if they dont cut it we could always can them..HeHeHe
